I frequently find myself asking: "Did I take my pill this morning?"
If you've ever had to take a pill on a regular basis you've probably had a the experience of forgetting whether you took your pill or not. I propose a circle of text at the base of a pill bottle that spells out the units of time between pills. For example, if it is a daily pill, the base of the bottle would read; Mon, Tue, Wed, etc. Now, on top of this text would be a solid rotating ring with a hole that shows just one of these words. So, when I wake up Monday morning, I look at my bottle and the ring reads Mon. I take my pill and turn the ring so it reads Tue. Now, if later in the day I forgot whether I took the pill or not, I just look at the bottle. If it reads Mon., then I know I forgot, if it reads Tue, then I know I have already taken it! This system could be adapted to multiple pills every day by making the text; M1, M2, M3, T1, T2 etc., for a pill taken three times a day. The beauty of the rotating ring is that it would act like a perpetual calendar until the prescription ran out. |

Patented in 1976! I guess I'm running a little behind here :-)
Also, check out the new Target redesign of the traditional pill bottle. Great idea!
